For Lovers Only at the Oldenburg Film Festival

For Lovers Only screened twice at the 18. International Filmfestival in Oldenburg, Germany, where the Polish Brothers were awarded for their 3rd film Northfork in 2003.

CinemaxX 7 17.09.11 – 20:00

 

Mark Polish was present at both of the screenings, together with a co-producer of FLO, Angus MacDonald.

They also held a Question&Answers panel for fans on 17.09.11 before the 2nd screening of FLO.

Denouement: A Conversation With the Polish Brothers

“We had a good business plan going, make it for this amount of money. But when those two films were taken away from us, it was a big black hole. We’re out of the game for now four or five years because of this. What do we do? Do we leave the business altogether because this isn’t what we planned? Or do we strap it up, strap on the boots, and just make another movie? We’re filmmakers at heart, and you can’t take that away from us at any price..”

Mark Polish presenting For Lovers Only at the Transatlantyk Film Festival in Poland

For Lovers Only screened 3 times at the international Transatlantyk Film Festival in Poznań, Poland. All of the screenings were a big success, huge cinema halls were packed and the audience seemed to enjoy the film as much as the fans who came to support it. Mark Polish was present at 2 of the 3 screening in Poznań and gave many interesting insides on making of FLO while answering questions from the audience.

Making Love Out of Nothing At All

“As I waited for the audience to exit our screening, I wasn’t overly concerned whether people were going to “love it” or “hate it.” What I was interested in was if my intention was communicated. I wanted to make a movie that explored what it felt like actually “being in love” rather than “falling in love.” To my mind, the finished film accomplished that.”
